Description
This seed jar is a great example of traditional Hopi potting by Nampeyo, the famed potter. Featuring a traditional eagle tail design around a red mouth, it is exceptionally well made and exhibits fine design on the exterior. The mouth is squared off with red polished clay, and the ceramic is perfectly molded, well painted, and well fired. The jar is a striking example of Nampeyo’s designs of the Sikyatki Revival Art Movement.
This excellent seed jar measures 3 ¼” in height by 6 7/8” in diameter and is in great original condition. Solid classic example of Nampeyo’s work.
