Description
This Hopi miniature yellowware jar by Rachel Sahmie is painted with a flowing migration pattern that encircles the piece in a continuous, undulating band. The bold red slip is framed by finely balanced black and cream elements, while the rhythmic scrolls and stepped forms create a sense of motion across the surface. Meticulously hand-coiled and traditionally fired, the jar reflects Sahmie’s refined control of line and form and her deep connection to the Sikyatki Revival tradition.
This miniature measure 2” in height by 2 ½” in Diameter and is signed by the artist.
