This finely crafted Hopi miniature seed jar by Rachel Sahmie features the classic Sikyatki Revival diamond maze design encircling the shoulder of the vessel. Hand-coiled from native clay and traditionally fired, the jar is beautifully balanced in form, with crisp black line work framing alternating red and cream panels accented by rhythmic hatching. The continuous interlocking pattern creates a sense of movement around the piece, reflecting the enduring visual language passed down through the Nampeyo family lineage and Sahmie’s confident mastery of this historic Hopi pottery tradition.
