Description
This impressive Hopi polychrome open bowl was made by Nyla Sahmie Nampeyo in 2025. This bowl is well-molded with abstract avian designs. This excellent piece features intriguing motifs found throughout the Sikyatki art form. It is excellently fired, has a great form, is hand coiled, and has bright colors. The design features the abstractions of the Sikyatki revival painted by a 5th generation Nampeyo descendant. The tadpoles swimming in the frame above the avian design can be found throughout the Sikyatki tradition and are present throughout, similar to the avian abstractions.
This piece measures 3 ¼” in height by 9 ¼” in diameter and is signed by the artist.
