Description
This excellent disc-shaped bowl with an inward curving mouth features a masterfully fired yellow-slip with beautiful orange and beige blushes throughout. The encompassing band shows a variation of Hopi designs, kiva step patterns and fine line work. It has two thick lines framing the top and bottom of the design, and a black band rim.
This masterpiece was created by Nellie Douma Nampeyo (1896 1978), one of the daughters of the legendary Nampeyo of Hano. This fine piece is excellent original condition with no repairs. It measures 4 ¼” in height and 9 ½” in diameter and is signed by the artist.
