Description
A masterful example of contemporary Acoma pottery by Florence Aragon, (1929-2010), sister of Rachel Aragon, daughter of Lupe Aragon. This jar features an attractive parrot accented with fine-line designs. It is thinly potted by a skilled traditional artist, decorated with gorgeous, flowing designs in rich red and black on a clean white slip. Traditionally made and kiln fired, this piece incorporates all-natural Acoma clay slips and vegetal pigment and is signed by the artist and dated 2007, representing the last generation of great traditional potters from Acoma.
This piece measures 9” high by 9” in diameter. It is in superb condition and is a great addition to any collection.
