Description
These old silver butterfly pins are the work of the same Hopi silversmith around 1940 or before, predating the introduction of silver overlay. These pieces are highly creative, using a hollow silver tube as the body, intricate stampwork as decoration on the wings and hand-pulled wire antennae. The details of the designs are highly original but show similar elements and stamps. These pins are approximately the same size, measuring 2 1/2″ wide by 2 3/4″ long. Both pieces have excellent patina. Excellent condition. Available individually or as a set.
