Description
This is a carved geometric blackware jar by Santa Clara master potter Flora Naranjo (1915-1992). Its design features kiva steps, a favorite of Flora’s. Flora taught her family how to pot, producing many prolific potters—including her daughter, Glenda, who she often collaborated with. This jar was made around 1960 and measures 3 5/8″ height and 5 1/4″ diameter. It is in great condition and is clearly signed “Flora Naranjo Santa Clara” on the bottom.
