Description
This Hopi tile is decorated with a Koshare clown wearing a cornmeal pouch and framed by 3 fine lines. This limited-edition piece is part of a series of unfinished works by Jean Sahmie, who passed away in 2024 and entrusted the collection to her sister Nyla, who has recently started completing this series. This Limited-Edition series by Jean and Nyla represent the transgenerational transmission of craft amongst the Hopi women.
This piece measures 4 ¼” long by 3 ½” wide and is signed by Nyla who added Jean’s glyph in memory of her sister.
