Description

An excellent example of modern Hopi carving, this piece depicts a cheerful Koshare or clown, a figure known for comic relief during the annual ceremonial cycle. This piece features the iconic black and white costume with corn husk tassels on the hat. The doll carries a watermelon, wears miniature cowboy boots and sits on a separately carved drum. This piece is carved traditionally from cottonwood in 1984. It measures 8″ high and comes with provenance from the original collection. A fantastic addition to any collection of Hopi carvings.
