Description
An interesting piece of Southwestern folk art, this Hopi kachina doll is mounted on a trophy base. The doll depicts Holi, the hunter Kachina, with excellent detail. The base includes a plaque from the Valley National Bank which gave it as a staff award in January 1970. The inscription includes information about the artist Robert Quotskuyva:
“Hand crafted by Robert Quotskuyva, a Hopi Indian who lives near Oraibi in the Hopi country of northern Arizona, this Hunter Kachina is a fitting symbol of the spirit which means ‘Valley Bank’ to people all over the world.”
With the base, it measures 8 1/4″ high by 4″ wide. Excellent condition. An interesting addition to any collection of Kachinas.
