Description
A wonderful large kachina doll depicting the Hemis kachina, a figure who plays prominently in the Hopi Home Dance at the end of the annual cycle of Kachina ceremonies. This doll features excellent miniature regalia including a rattle, a dance sash and a detailed tableta. The dolls posture suggests the movement of the dance. A large piece measuring 20 1/2″ high, this doll has a big presence. Traditionally made from cottonwood root c.1950-60. Excellent condition. A great addition to your collection.
