Description
This classic Hopi jar dates to the 1920s. Although the jar is unsigned, the painting and molding both indicate the jar is the work of the Nampeyo family. The abstract design includes the familiar Hopi motif of kiva steps, and suggests birds flying around the mouth of the jar. The jar measures 5″ height and 4 1/2″ diameter, and is in excellent condition with no repair.
