Description
This exceptional canteen features a stunning Sikyatki design of avian iconography and excellent use of negative space. It is well fired traditionally with a pleasing yellow/orange blush.
The canteen measures 3 ½” high by 5” in diameter and, although unsigned, is attributed to the work of Nampeyo’s daughter Annie, based on her use of the bird head. By 1920, Annie was 34 and an accomplished potter in her own right. This piece is in excellent original condition.
